Below you will find your "Welcome Letter" plus all of our favorite Mammoth recommendations.

Mammoth Welcome

I hope you are excited about your upcoming trip to Mammoth. Everything is all set and ready for your arrival on and departing Sunday, August 15th.

The condo is located at 637 Golden Creek Road, Mammoth Lakes, CA

Directions:

As you enter Mammoth Lakes you will:

> Take a left on Old Mammoth Rd. Continue through “town” and past the Minaret

Village Shopping Center, aka “The Vons Center”, for about a mile.

> Turn right at Timber Creek Rd which is just about 100 yards past Minaret Rd.

> Take the first right on Golden Creek Rd.

> Right after you cross over the creek and just past the pond on your right, you will pull into the “cul-de-sac” parking area on the left. Unit #637 will be straight ahead on the bottom right.

Check-in:
- Typically, check-in is 4pm and check-out is 12pm (noon).
  - We often can alter these times based on availability so please don’t hesitate to ask.
- If you plan on checking in later than 11pm just let me know and I’ll adjust the porch lights for you.
  - Both the front porch (BBQ) as well as the front door lights are set on a smart switch and do not need to be turned on or off. However, if you wish the switch still operates like a regular switch and can be turned on or off.
- I have added your own unique access code for you to use my lock.

TO UNLOCK:

From the outside, press the “Home” logo and enter (Every guest receives their unique entrance code).

From the inside, turn the thumb turn.

TO LOCK:

From the outside, press the Lock logo.

From the inside, turn the thumb turn.

If you are going to arrive after 11:30 PM let me know and I’ll adjust the porch and front lights for you. They are set in timers and there is no real need to turn them on or off, however the light switch works and they can be manually turned on/off at any time.

Game Night:

Make sure to leave time for “Family Game Night”. We have lots of fun family board and card games, along with a standup arcade Ms. Pac-Man (+), “Old School” Atari 2600, and PS4

Spa:

I’m also happy to report that Mono County has lifted the spa restrictions and our spa is now open for you to enjoy. You will find the key hanging just inside the front door. Please replace the key as this is the only copy. Note that the door to the spa is a bit tricky to unlock and turns to the right with some jiggling. The Spa building is located directly behind the trash bin building at the far end of the parking area and across from duplex #510.

Additional Information “Our Favorite Picks”:

HIKING:

Snowcreek Meadow Reserve (Walk from condo – apx. 100 yards)
- Access between duplex units 510 & 511 * Across from the spa
- Apx 1 mile walk through the meadow along Mammoth Creek
- Elevation gain: basically zero
- Dog friendly

Devils Postpile & Rainbow Falls (Reds Meadow)
- Tram from 7am – 7pm
- Reservations recommended for Shuttle Bus.
  - 1-800-Mammoth
- Highly recommend driving in: Drive in before 7am. *No reservations required to drive in. 
Horseshoe Lake (4.5 miles – 12 minute drive from condo)
- 1.8 mile “loop” around the lake
- Elevation gain: 114’ (basically flat)
- Dog friendly
McLeod Lake Trail *Trial head in Horseshoe Lake parking lot
- 1.8 mile up and back w/loop around the lake
- Elevation gain: 351’ (moderate uphill to the lake)
- Dog friendly
Mammoth Rock (2 miles – 5 minute drive from condo)
- 5.1 mile out & back
  - HOWEVER- you can get a great hike and view within just a few hundred feet. No need to complete the entire hike. You can walk at least 1 mile with very little elevation gain.
- Elevation gain: 774’
- Dog friendly
Convict Lake (11 miles – 18 minute drive)
- 2.5 mile “loop” around the lake
- Elevation gain: 177’ (basically flat)
- Dog friendly
- *NOTE: There is a nice restaurant for lunch and dinner and a “fun” snack bar serving breakfast and lunch
Gull Lake (June Lake – 22 miles – 29 minute drive from condo)
- 2 mile “loop” around the lake
- Elevation gain: 65’ (flat)
- Dog friendly
- Restaurants located in June Lake
- *Note: Fun snack bar with ice cream cones and shakes located at June Lake turnoff
Mono Lake “SOUTH” Tufa Towers (30 miles – 35 minute drive from condo)
- 0.8 miles
- Elevation gain: 29’ (super flat)
- Dog friendly
  - NOTE: The South Tufa Towers are located just east of the Hwy 120 turnoff to Yosemite & “Tuolumne Meadows”
  - Great place to stop on your way to Yosemite
Yosemite ****MUST have reservations. Book a week in advanced. You can NOT access the part at all without a reservation.
Elizabeth Lake
- 4.9 miles (out and back)
- Elevation gain: 843’
- NO Dogs 

STUFF OFF THE BEATEN PATH:

Tubing “floating” down the Owens River in Bishop
- Just under a 3 mile and 2 ½ hour river float with less than a mile walk/bike/drive between the entrance and exit points.

Hot Creek Geological Site
- Hot Creek Hatchery Rd. (Turn off is east side of I-395 and just north of the Mammoth airport)

- “Latin Market” AWESOME!!

- The Loco Frijole (yes, we like it better than Roberto’s)
  - WAY less crowded and great food
American
- The Warming Hut
Brewery
- Distant Brewery (*Not as fancy as Mammoth Brewery, but a more local vibe that is much more laid back.)
- NOTE: Mammoth Brewery to us is just “okay”.
Coffee House & Smoothies
- Stellar Brew Not just my daughter’s favorite Mammoth coffee house, but her all-time favorite. 

- The Stove (*about a mile walk from the condo)

  - Can become busy

    - Tuesday’s starting at 4pm

- Footloose if you want the “better” bikes
  - It’s “first come - first served”, so I would get there early, especially if you want a particular bike. They open up at 8am and line generally starts to form about 7:30am.
